Hollye has painted nearly every room in our home using creative techniques and color combinations. She also painted a hardwood floor to look like marble and did a wonderful job painting an old pine table that now looks brand new. It is a pleasure to watch her creativity. - Linda Frank, Lake Oswego, Oregon
Pricing
“How much does a mural or faux finish cost?” This is generally the first question asked by potential clients. Since making murals, faux finishes, gilded objects, trompe l’oeil, and other artwork is completely hand made and custom, each is a unique piece and made to fit your specifications and vision. There are many things to consider when pricing a commission, thus when determining price, it depends on many factors. So, when asked this question, I respond that it depends on many things, and I need to ask some more questions. Once we have had a conversation about your vision, budget, and desires, I will create a proposal with one to three design ideas that will address your needs and questions, and fit within your budget. You will get to choose from a range of options that I will explain and the process to create each option.Once we have determined which option suits your needs, I will need a fifty-percent deposit and your signature on the proposal in order to commence working on your project. I will then prepare a formal drawing of your mural or create sample boards for a decorative finish.
On the Wall or On Canvas?
If we are creating a mural or decorative finish for you in the Greater Portland, Oregon area, we will be happy to paint it on your wall. If we have to travel a greater distance to paint for you, travel fees including lodging, meals, vehicle and/or airfare expense will be calculated and added to your proposal. We also paint murals on canvas to be hung (like wallpaper) in your home, apartment, office or other location by a qualified professional of your choosing. This is a good option to consider if you are thinking of moving and want to take your mural with you. The photo on this page shows us touching up a mural painted on canvas that has been mounted to the ceiling.
